Three tips for planning for 2021

A new year brings with it an opportunity to list various resolutions to fulfill. Whether they are individuals or companies, the first days of each year invite us to reflect on the goals we want to achieve in the short, medium and long terms. We are not yet certain about the end of the global health crisis, but thanks to the experience we already have about it, we can define more realistic plans with a view to recovery or rebirth.

Just as we are aware of defining objectives to be achieved, the month of January reminds us that we must also define a realistic and traceable methodology so that the purposes do not remain in good wishes. That is why we want to share with you our three main tips to define in the best possible way what and how we want to achieve in 2021:

  1. Evaluate the previous period. Doing accounts on the performance of the previous year allows us to have a starting point before defining what we want to achieve. Based on the reflection of what was accomplished, what was left half and what was not achieved gives us a realistic overview to know what objectives we must establish. Likewise, it is a tool to make the necessary adjustments so that the performance of the year is better.
  2. Review the supplier portfolio. Throughout the year, many providers had to close their doors or change their credentials. Therefore, the beginning of the year is a good time to contact interested third parties who can be allies in the execution of various processes. Who knows. Synergies can be ensured that help both parties to grow in the coming months.
  3. Introduce the concept of risk. If 2020 taught us anything, it is that risk-based planning is much more economical and profitable than reacting to a crisis without any preparation. Therefore, when defining any goal or objective, it is worth foreseeing the greatest number of risks involved and planning possible responses.

The remnants from the previous year will continue to wreak havoc now. However, knowing what we want to achieve and how we are preparing to achieve it will allow us to begin a faster recovery of our union as soon as possible.
